More video services
I would like to have the following video services in my wikis
- Community video http://www.archive.org/details/opensource_movies http://www.archive.org/details/movies (Archive.org free movies library)
- Mediateca EOI http://www.eoi.es/mediateca/ (media library using CC licenses from state school of business in Spain). I'm working in a wiki for them. Sample of video with code to embed: http://www.eoi.es/mediateca/video/1093#nogo
- Videomi+d from madri+d http://www.madrimasd.org/cienciaysociedad/mediateca/ (media library with videos about science & outreach; from research department of Madrid autonomous government in Spain). I worked in a wiki for them some years ago.
- Giss DMMDB http://giss.tv/dmmdb/ (video server for social movements, art & experimentation) - Or any DMMDB site like [1], [2], [3], etc...
What's the way to transform the embed codes into MW Widgets? --Dvdgmz 07:51, November 15, 2011 (AST)
Google Wizards
- http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxsearch/wizards.html - transfer existing ones from Ardorado.com or develop from scratch. Replaces Google Custom Search Engine extension(s).
Commenting and other community widgets
- http://js-kit.com/ - JS-Kit widgets
- http://www.google.com/friendconnect/ - Google Friend Connect
- http://www.typepad.com/connect/ - TypePad Connect
Ted Talks
Would love to display Ted Talks on my wiki. --SomaticJourney 12:16, February 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm. Their player takes quite a few parameters - I'll see if that can easily be converted. --Sergey Chernyshev 17:13, February 13, 2010 (UTC)
- How are you fairing, Sergey? Thanks for your attention on this, much appreciated :) --SomaticJourney 18:23, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, didn't have time for that yet, will appreciate some other people's help. Try writing to a mailing list - maybe others will be interested to help. --Sergey Chernyshev 18:37, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

Charlie Rose
Sergey, what about Charlie Rose, from the share dialogue next to the clip, it seems it doesn't require many vars. --SomaticJourney 18:26, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
- actually, I don't see an embed code there at all - not sure how to embed that. --Sergey Chernyshev 18:37, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
Google Custom Search
We've started using mediawikiwidgets on Appropedia, and they're great. Only one thing we're really missing is embedding a Google Custom Search search box in a page.
The hexten widget extension for Google Custom Search seems to be working - perhaps their code could be adapted? These two hexten widgets both work:
- http://hexten.net/wiki/index.php/Google_Co-op_Search_Widget
That would be really helpful - thanks! --Chriswaterguy 05:36, January 2, 2011 (MST)
- I just used the Google Gadget to implement the Google Custom Search Gadget. See http://www.appropedia.org/Public_Domain_Search for an example. Maybe this should be splintered into its own widget, but I don't know. --Lonny 09:50, January 2, 2011 (MST)

SciVee video player
Hi, I have a new widget for SciVee (http://scivee.tv) video player. You can find the widget here
I also have created the description page for the widget: http://www.mediawikiwidgets.org/SciVee Thank you. --SciVee
- Thank you! I posted the code page for it- you can see result on SciVee page. --Sergey Chernyshev 15:22, February 11, 2009 (UTC)
WolframAlpha Widget
I added a WolframAlpha widget here: WolframAlpha. This product will be in Beta soon, but the example should work. --Marty Kane 17:22, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
- Marty, where is the actual widget page? --Sergey Chernyshev 05:18, April 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Sergey, the widgets are dynamically generated (from a strict syntax) so there is no one true widget page. The example I submitted is here, though: http://developer.wolframalpha.com/widgetbuilder/output/display.jsp?id=3863698288630ffc1878729993ad7b6d I would be happy to discuss this further via email: martyk@wolfram.com Thanks --Marty Kane
- No problem, once you figure out how they'll be embedded in HTML pages, I'll be happy to help you make MediaWiki Widget out of it. --Sergey Chernyshev 23:45, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
- I feel stupid - just noticed actual widget ;) and posted it: Widget:WolframAlpha --Sergey Chernyshev 23:51, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Sergey, I need to adjust the Wolfram|Alpha Widget code, how can I do that? --Marty Kane
- Post your changes here, or create a subpage under this talk page. There is no better way yet, but I'm thinking about using FlaggedRev in the future, just need to make sure it works with Widgets extension. --Sergey Chernyshev 18:38, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks Sergey I made a new section below for the new code page. Sorry if it's mangled. If it's too much trouble I could email you the new contents. Thanks. --Marty Kane
- I updated it. I also used "html" escape and not urlpathinfo. BTW, now you can just edit Widget page and I'll just approve the changes. --Sergey Chernyshev 17:28, April 16, 2010 (MDT)
- Thanks Sergey I made a few tweaks on the page. I didn't see the edit link before but I will use that in the future. --Marty Kane
- Sounds great, please let me know when it's available for everybody to use (and not in beta) and I'll post it to all the lists. --Sergey Chernyshev 08:35, April 19, 2010 (MDT)
